I Dream

My heart yearns for younger years
when I took on summer to the fullest.
I miss the days of walking on the beach
in bare feet covered in sand.
I wish I could hear the waters again,
the seagulls cawing as they steal my bread.
The midnight breezes,
they caressed me
while the summer heat
turned me bronze.
From a place of warmth and comfort
to one filled with distress,
I dream,
and dream,
and dream.
