Metaphors are involved

In creating sentences whose meanings are not easily solved

The sentence, “The flames kindled angrily,” what could that mean?

It could mean anger, burning anger, about to be seen

Grayed metal burns against these flames

Grayed metal from a blacksmith; resisting restrain

The restrain to turn into a sword, sharpened and strong

That will fight against dull writing for hours that are long

Metaphors are paintbrushes

Painting against the dull, white paper in slight rushes

“Blue curtains” could mean sadness

Or raindrops creating a mess

On a blackened carpet; representing the night sky

Or ravens preparing to fly

“Yellow tablecloth” could mean the sun on a warm afternoon

Vibrantly shining; its rays extending soon

“Green blankets” could mean lush grass

With a clear pond reflecting against it like glass

Glass that can shatter, even with the slightest touch

Shards that are splayed out quite so much

With metaphors, the author can visualize and create

A sentence beyond its present state
