Burn
I can tell from the look in their eyes
that they want me to burn
they want me on that stake
they want to hear my screams
they want me to wither in pain
they don't know
that I'm already burning
I'm already dying
haunting memories
are the wood
my own thoughts
are the lit match
each day
my light is dimming
do they not notice my silence
or my isolation?
can they not see
the tears behind my smile?
I guess no
but who can blame them
even I am fooled by
what I see in the mirror
