The Plastics

The plastics.

Stuck up girls

With fake smiles and tight curls.

Standing in their pack

Waiting for their moment to attack.

Snarky laughs

While telling jokes behind backs.

Spreading rumors that could kill.

Leaving scars at their will.

But their victims pull through,

And they go somewhere new.

A place like home

That they call their own.

Making true friends,

While starting over again.

And though their scars are not gone

They are covered by a true bond.

And now who is left

In their same little pack

Whom no one expects,

Until they attack?

The plastics.

The author's comments:

This piece is meant to portray what really happens in schools. Sometimes, it is the people who no one expects that hurt others the most. This piece is also meant to give hope. I made sure to show the victim in the end in a place where she is comfortable, safe, and happy. She has made true friends because she pushed through all of the hurtful words and rumors.
