Colorblind
It's gray outside today
the sky is two shades away
from being black
I take a step back
Rain isn't falling from the clouds
thunder doesn't boom loud
lightning doesn't slay
so I turn on my feet and run away
everybody around has joy
every girl and every boy
smiling ear to ear
all smothered in a gray smear
the sun is up today
illuminating the sky of gray
but the sun is just hot air
An inky blackhole without a care
I try to shake off the gray
and focus on my play
five minutes slide by
and i'm still gray inside
A butterfly flutters past
a sight that doesn't last
for behind it's gray cloth
the butterfly is nothing but a moth
everybody compliments the weather
shedding their jackets of leather
admiring the gray on the trees
a gray they prefer to call green
Nobody else cares about the gray
for them it has already faded away
breaking free of the gray from their minds
well maybe im just colorblind
