Waving Water
I am from Sister Bay, Wisconsin,
where summer nights smile and laugh,
where summer days roar with family flavor—
I am from a place fluttered with fish,
where rocks dwell on the shore,
where sand sifts through my toes—
I am from watercraft rippling through the lake,
where spending days at the beach overpowers the agenda,
where playing sports in the water becomes a five hour activity—
I am from a place where jetski speed rules,
where tearing up the water satisfies thrills,
where the lake acts as a dragstrip for adrenaline—
I am from the sound of music resonating through the crisp air,
where the bass beats buzz through the lake,
where the guitar rumbles through the amp—
I am from a place where the night lights up with a bombard of fireworks,
where stars swallow up the darkness,
where the moon magnifies its grim gloom off the water—
I am from Sister Bay, Wisconsin,
where summer nights smile and laugh,
where summer days roar with family flavor.
