A Gentle Purr

One day I saw this perfection
Of green eyes,
Spotted fur,
Kindness,
And a gentle purr.
She is now my partner in crime
Secrets told,
Tears shed,
Happy days,
And a gentle purr in her head.
I love her more than love itself.
With her kind eyes,
Listening ears,
And a warm hug
That brings me to tears
When I think for a second that one day,
Sometime soon, but I hope far,
That that gentle purr will be gone.
