More Than A Game
Every winter, I am anxious
For basketball is here.
This sport gets me most excited,
I feel the need to cheer.
When I hold the big round orange ball,
My body tingles, I am happy
I can not wait to go and practice
My mom tells me to make it snappy.
I have never had much more fun,
Than stepping on that court,
And playing that exciting great game.
Although I may be short.
Feeling the way I feel, makes me
Realize that this is much
More than an ordinary game.
Much more than passing and such.
What would I do without basketball?
I would be in a pickle.
But could it be, my ankle is broken,
All I can feel is a tear beginning to trickle.
