I Promise I'm Over You
I am certain I am over you.
On a normal Thursday afternoon
driving home from school
Music loud, windows down.
I wake up with smiles on my face.
More than ready for the day.
Not left wondering how many more ways
you could possibly walk away.
But before you know it.
It’s midnight
And I’m stuck between
not being able to decide whether or not to swallow my pride
And just say what I want to say
But I can’t help but think of all the ways you’ve already walked away.
So I say nothing.
How can I be certain I’m so past you
when my mind always brings me back to you.
But,
I say nothing.
