It starts out to be a world of glee

Summertime in the air

Picnics at the park and plenty of sleep

Nothing can compare

Friends and family all stop by

For a vacation with you

Swim in the pool ‘til you’re tired and starved

And have a popsicle or two

The days slip by from June to July

August on the horizon

Summertime is coming to a close 

How does it just happen?

You rush to fit in tryouts for soccer

Along with homework due

Hustling ‘til you’re all stressed out

Fall is coming soon

The leaves are falling one by one

Time is running out
