Starlight, star bright, why is my heart so lonely tonight?
I lie awake with sorrow though it’s close to midnight
My body aches with regret and my head is full of plight
Why? I ask myself, did our last conversation have to be full of spite?
Starlight, star bright, why are my memories dim but reality so bright?
I don’t understand why the rejection I feel is in the limelight
Why should it have to be? I think to myself as I sit upright
My story isn’t ruined. There’s just been a miswrite
