Different
I’ve never been that girl.
Never that girl to wear what other girls do.
Never been the girl to have many female friends.
I’ve never been that girl.
It’s never been my style.
Never my style to act “like a girl”.
To talk “like a girl”.
Never been my style to dress,
“Like a girl”.
It’s never been my style.
I can’t,
Be like other girls.
I can’t,
“make nice” with other girls.
I can’t.
I can,
Befriend guys like I should girls.
I can,
Confidently dress in fancy male clothes.
I can,
Easily recite Shakespeare.
I can,
Dare to be different.
I can.
Because,
I broke the mold.
Because,
I don’t care what others think.
Because,
I know what’s wrong,
Yet dare to challenge it.
And just because,
I love a girl,
Doesn’t mean I can’t,
Wear girls clothes.
Dance like a girl.
Sing like a girl.
Be a girl.
