Where I am From
I am from where the grasses lay high.
Where the song birds sing in the Spring.
I am winter from the crystalized formed
lakes and streams.
The occasional chills they whisper to me,
Demeter is no longer swelled with happiness.
Persephone has plunged,
Back into the Underworld.
(And so have I)
Greek Mythology was a mystery.
But Mrs. Fitzpatrick had teached,
And so I learned about gods and goddeses alike.
This supernatural and complex connection,
In which the Ancient Greek made,
For their own cult and ritual practices.
Their stories that explain the nature
Of the world in prehistoric times.
Reality. It took my soul away.
And swayed me.
Gods are real guys.
I am from the Percy Jackson series.
The novel series "Hunger Games",
the writer of "Cured" and "Stung" by Bethany Wiggins.
There are things we have in common, just beyond the sky.
"There are no limits".
From the sketchings of black, white ink,
Rough though hard.
The scent of new paper.
These meaningful words added life to these masterpieces,
These Graphic Novels influenced me,
To bring out my true obesessions.
To say a time, once, I recieved a book.
But not necessarily one.
Full of graphics and action.
A present from Vanessa Mackessy.
I, Who had looked up to her
In the shadows ever since before.
She was my Secret Santa.
Who my parents won't buy me these,
I was blissful and ecstatic.
I accepted "Maximum Ride" with a smile,
I am from "those nostalgic times..."
I am from the Japanese Culture
Flippings of paper art, festivals and evil villians.
Reading from right to left,
I am a manga book.
I am from the hot-steam,
The tingling sensations; excellent tastes.
From delicious cooked Ramen.
My dreams are meant solely to dream
of only noodles.
Excluding shrimp, white rice, clams and sushi
Being reminded, to those wistful playbacks,
Of those special moments.
I was a troublesome kid,
To every restuarant if they served it,
I would always order,
Some fresh cooked ramen.
I am from "Don't be sooo racist"
From the term "Melodic Playing" comes,
Constant screeches and mistakes I play,
On a particluar smooth and hollow
String-slurring instrument.
It's wood. Made especially for violin players.
Messing up,
On my days' back in elementary school
When my playing sucked hard,
And the right notes turned out wrong.
Still determind. Playing quickly became easy.
I am from David Garrett, Jan Curry Ahn (Jun Sung Ahn) and Lindsey Stirling
The well-known players who inspired me.
I am the Rosin and the dust,
The aftermath of this mess.
I am from K-Pop and Dramas.
Having had initially introduced to it from my cousins
I am from SHINee, UI, and EXO.
I am from "Mischievious Kiss, "200 pound Beauty" and "Jewel in the Palace".
I am from my supportive-but-suffering mother,
Who never got divorced.
For the sake of keeping family together.
For being in agony and torment,
From my father's constant rampages.
It's her who provides our family expenses.
It's her that works twelve hours a day.
I am from a " Broken Heart "
I am from the VERY mature names
My wicked and sadistic brother
Calls me at home "Stupid" and tons more.
I despise him.
VERY much.
Which reminds me,
Of his heartless and pesky attitude.
I want to punch him so bad.
I am his "Sister" but called worse.
I am from the crowd of Asians,
Lanturns and souviener shops all over.
The traffic beeps with automoblies, my hometown.
The sun beams shines brightly
Reminding me of the "old days".
An appartment house.
Whose memories I shared with my grandparents,
Stayed with me
Forever.
A big park and a tiny town
Where about everyone knew everyone.
Eight years ago.
I am from the smell of firecracker and space,
I am the center of Chinatown, San Francisco
where I once lived.
I am from the make-believe name Akira Tsukino (A-kee-raa Sue-kee-noe),
A title I go by.
In my own world.
Composed of Japanese names,
I made especially for myself.
I am from the believer
Of the Yaoi (Yow-wee) kingdom.
A daydreamer otaku (ou'takoo) to be exact.
The start of the third grade year,
Made me have a fixation; My discoverance in anime.
Being persistently reminding people that
Anime is not a 'cartoon'.
I am from "Just to let you know".
I am from the shows Attack On Titan,
Highschool Of the Dead and Wolf Children (movie).
They are very likable in my standards.
I am from my close-enough-to-be my-sister,
Zishan Huang (G-san Huwong), or Zoe
Whose a clever-minded braniac,
A cousin that 'understands' me.
She tells me crazy love stories in her visits,
and I would always listen.
Though, she never, accepted my fangurl shippings of her and Cody
I learned to forgive her.
She's a useful 'tool' to use when in doubt.
She's the meant-to-be Disney Queen of her generation.
From the silly names
People tend to 'miscall' me "Sop", "Silvia" and "I-Don't-Know".
I find it slightly unnerving,
But I don't mind.
I'm just clumsy.
I'm just a "professor"
(Mr.Fleck reference)
I find it only concerning when
I get called "Sophie".
It drives me nuts,
So don't.
I am from writing, art, and music,
The subjects I involved best my whole life.
Music is passion.
Writing is easy.
"I am awesome"
(Cool Apollo reference)
From the many pushy teachers I've met.
They've given me the education I needed.
Including Mrs. Laxalt,
Who made learning fun and cherishable.
I am from Avengers, Linear Equations, World War I and Greek Mythology.
I am from the peace and quiet,
Whose personal space is a place for thinking,
For thoughts to sink in.
I am from the tenderness,
The strict lectures he gave to me weeks before he died.
To the deceased, I am my grandfather (Wong Ahng) ,
Whose a clever mind as a great doctor,
Who had helped many souls survive from death's door.
Being helplessly sick one day,
He left us.
I am the half-blood who doesn't see things as they are.
My mind functions 'differently' from others.
Time is more devouring and
Studies overwhelm my free times.
I am the phrase "Work Harder",
The encouragement from people to try my best.
But constantly mocks me,
Making me think of bitter and only bitter 'failures'.
"Just Kidding, Just Kidding."
Still.
Humanity has paid me great favors,
and I thank them.
I am from the river that flows; "to Narnia...."

I wrote it in a class assignment about "Where I am From" poems we are studying and I did this for fun. My teacher read it and loved it. My friend recommended me to submit it to TeenInk.com and so I did. I hope people will get the life of me and how I've gone through all the goods and the bads.
