Out of habit, my eyes open
at the crack of dawn.
The room seems to spin
and I let out a yawn.
Homework assignments whiz through my head,
but I don't want to go to school and leave this comfy bed.
I think for a while, then realize with a "hooray"
that, today oh thank the lord, is Saturday.

So with a smile on my face,
my eyes already tightly, tightly closed,
my mind drifts to a faraway plac
and I pull up my vevety blanket, to keep out the cold.
The warmth washes over me and I give a big sigh
The school bus won't be here soon,
and to work I can say, "Good-bye!"
I'm going to sleep until noon.
