I mumble and swear
My limbs, they ache
I rub my eyes
It’s time to wake
Another day
To fall out of bed
Perhaps I should
Sleep in instead
But, no I have
Homework to do
Ha, I should mention
I don’t want to
I always avoid
Doing homework
But I know I shouldn’t
Shirk this work
Oh, well, I guess
It’s time to start
To do this math
And prove I’m smart
I know I can
But don’t want to
I’ll suck it up
And push on through
