Overthrow My Light
Forced out by a single thought
The illusions of light remain
From speaking about this dark hole new
I must endeavor to refrain
Keep it to myself, let no soul in
Embrace the darkness I know
Let this thought fester in mind
Let the illusions show
The show of lights that permeated
Every inch of my spirit
The very thing that drove out hate
Has let a shadow near it
Nothing is truly beyond salvage
This introverted death included
Yet no one can help it, to keep them safe
I must keep the truth secluded
Tears a hole in my mind when I wake
Makes an impossibility out of sleep
The shadows invading every corner
Of myself, pain they will reap
Lost the fight, then the war
Each one hopelessly battled
Leave a gaping hole in the heart
Incurable, I’m shaken, rattled
The evil unnamed that consumes me now
Has fought for control and won
The pain will burn, never stop
Until I’m dead and gone.
