As it Seems
I used to ponder
On the wonder
Of the sky
The majesty
The beauty
Of its everlasting
Clasp
And why
It was always
So far away
From me.
I used to wonder
Why.
The clouds would float away
Every time I reached out
To stroke them
And feel
whether
They might
Be
What they looked like
And now I know
With much regret
Why.
I am
A miasma of
Toxication
A human soul
Of poison
Flowers wilt
The breeze
Turns away
In my presence.
Nothing is what it seems
The clouds
Aren’t soft
The sky
Not kind
The breeze
Not comforting
Because I
Am
A child
No longer.
