Atrum Nox Noctis
In the blackness, alone I stand
A sad girl looks me in the eye
Balled into fists are my hands
My entire life drenched in lies
I stare her down, but she doesn’t move
Every move I make she copies
A tattooed image I cannot remove
Those possessed eyes and hair so choppy
Who is this girl and what does she want?
Her eyes as deep as black holes
She knows, she knows, like a wise savant
I feel she is staring into my soul
I could not take another length
The pressure was just too great
I strike the mirror with all my strength
In only pure rage and hate
Eight faces of me split
An echo plays of a snapping sound
Again I swing, the center I hit
As the pieces shatter to the ground
I smash the mirror with all my might
Until only one shard remains
The last I remember of that night
Was staring into eyes of pain
