Winter
Winter blows ice
freezing land and time.
Trees stand bare
limbs in crusted with frost,
miles of silent wonder
billow into the horizon.
Fire crackles and warmth
engulfs your interior.
A white abstraction
has lain down,
and buried what is known.
You watch,
and feel as if
Time itself has been
enshrouded in
this wintery realm.
Winter is when you let go
release time from your mind
whip it clean
the world is gearing for a fresh start
you have celebrated the old year
and welcomed the new.
Winter is the harshest
season...
it asks for you to say hello,
and good-bye.
