sound without speaking.
When i wake in the morning
it seems natural to mouth the words
into your chest they fade, no sound to validate my feelings.
You sleep through every confession I make.
I hide you, I keep you for myself
I shall forever be the selfish child
I cling to you like a motherless child.
I can never let you go.
You always wake after me
Every heartfelt, tear jerking admittance
is lost on you; every silent cry is lost on you.
I love how these one sided conversations are the best I've ever had.
This morning is different.
You wake before me, pretending to sleep
I mouth those words as always, but you shift
My security is shattered then.
I can never trust you even as you repeat the words I never say every day.
