"History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again." ~ Maya Angelou

One day I’ll wish upon a star,
Until that day you will remain afar.
The sun comes up and life goes on,
Knowing no longer shall I hear your song.

I grieve the loss of the love you shared,
I grieve the loss of the way you cared.
I miss the way you smiled for me,
I miss the way things used to be.

After you left things started to change,
People destroying themselves ‘cause of the pain.
I closed my eyes hoping to see you again,
Thinking maybe then all this would end.

I sit awake at night looking at the sky,
Then I see it from the corner of my eye.
That bright ball of fire I so desperately seek,
Sitting in the night sky, just out of reach.

That night I wished upon a star,
Yet you still remain afar.

I lost three important women in my life. I don't cry much, so this was the only way to get it off my chest.
