Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.
Abraham Lincoln

An empty conch shell
just resting alone, peaceful tonight
where one can crawl up
and sleep for eternity.

Where the ocean sings
and the memories of sand and salt water
are played over and over
never forgotten.

But the inside world is a soft pink
with a warm tone
never leaving one alone
a heart that will never stop beating.

Maybe less exciting than a flower
reaching for the light
or a flat stone
skipping across the river

But this empty, hollow conch shell
is what can be taken
and made into a home
for you and me

If you could crawl up inside anything, what would you choose?
