Until It's Written
Words, they give away so much.
Before they’re said, there’s never enough.
Silence breaks by a shattered voice.
Deaf ears block out the damaged noise.
Sound falls upon a muted device.
Less we make a sound, it’s honesty we sacrifice.
They are lies to fall upon a soundless screen.
The heedless cannot understand what it means.
Eyes are open but do not read lips.
Over the syllables, the speaker soon trips.
Presume not that everyone will comprehend.
Especially those things that come to an end.
Dream not as if tomorrow is the finish.
See it well, for this world will someday diminish.
Truth is inescapable, as with it we are smitten.
Words, are invisible until they are written.
