Web of Lies
Oh, what a tangled web we weave,
That those who we love are those we deceive
Lies twist through every thought, every dream,
‘Till all that we see isn’t what it would seem
Someday all will know, when the lies all unfold,
The true story behind the story we have been told
Who is the spider if we all are just flies,
Caught and struggling in the huge web of lies
Everyone is somehow affected by every other,
Something the lies don’t want us to discover
The lies of the past over which all have fought,
Buried the truth so that we all forgot
That under the lies we would know no one wins,
When we’re caught in the web that everyone spins
If there were no lies it’d have not gone this way,
And that’s the truth…
Or just another white lie that we say.
