I'm Leaving
I’ve stood in this room too many times before.
Can’t say I’ve seen it as empty as this.
All that’s left is the closet and door.
A part of me saying this is no hit-it’s all a miss.
There’s no turning back now-no time for doubt.
Two months of summer love, and plans to reconcile.
That part of me is telling me not to walk out,
And to ditch those extra miles.
I want nothing more than for him to be happy, as well as I.
“If you love someone, let them go.”
So, why shouldn’t I?
And if he comes back to me, then I will know.
I’m leaving now with full intentions on coming back.
Please don’t leave me or someone else; there’s no telling what I’ll do.
In two years, we’ll start from where we left off-we’ll get back on track.
Don’t you doubt it for a second; I’m falling in love with you.
