Told that it would be the best
Thought that age was gonna do the rest
Just 'bout ready to leave the nest
But comes along an unexpected test

Your friends will all be leaving you
Those that won't, aren't new
The world is turning gray and blue
Waiting in life's longest queue

Never knowing what will be
Forgetting about being free
When will people ever see...
Take this warning straight from me

Thanks (again...I should come up with a new word)! This was one of my earlier poems, I think I've grown a lot since then in my writing style.

"According to some, heroic deaths are admirable things. (Generally those who don't have to do it. Politicians and writers spring to mind.) I've never been convinced by this argument, mainly because, no matter how cool, stylish, composed, unflappable, manly, or defiant you are, at the end of the day you're also dead. Which is a little too permanent for my liking." — Jonathan Stroud (Ptolemy's Gate)

The Good: This was good!  I liked the last line especially.

The Bad: This wasn't the most OMG amazing thing I've read of yours, but I still liked it!

The Random: *random silence*
