Her delicate eyelids flutter

waking from a delicate slumber
Her wrists are sculpted bronze

He has no leather boots

Shimmering cigarette between jaundiced fingers
He whispers in a stupor, ‘You’re in Fireless now’

So calm. So cool. So

collect it al in your weathered palms
Let the light spill from your fingertips

He stares without seeing

dead in his own right
Why didn’t she hear him?

A love long lost to ambrosial pride

Her eyes burn like too-cold air
Her back aches, it’s cracking, cracking...

A beating, like a pulsing migraine

The shady silhouette in his chest eats him alive
Out of body and far out of mind, he clutches at the air

The world is my stage, and I won’t die in vain

Climbing your way to the top, I will pry at your scrabbling fingers
from my perch in the Heavens

Hair in greasy ropes, from nervous fingers combing

It seems like forever ago, and maybe was
She lied at confession, and it didn’t hurt a bit

Hoping for an Elysian rendezvous

No hesitation, and they’re gone
An impressive waste of time, better things should’ve been done

A fall from grace like every other...

I’ll escape this filthy, forsaken place

someday, one day, I promise you that
And I’ll make sure to leave you behind
