You Are A Stereotype
You are a stereotype;
You blindly follow the loudest voice;
You stand in line to vote,
For a candidate, who bought your choice.
We shall be led to ‘greener’ pastures,
Where the water is tainted,
and the Shepherd is standing tall,
And we continue forward, all eyes now glossy, are painted.
You are a stereotype;
You stand not when say you will;
You have a brain and can use it,
But yet you dare not spill.
We shall be led to ‘greener’ pastures,
Where the sky has now begun cover,
And the Shepherd is standing tall,
And we continue forward, people now we start to suffer.
You are a stereotype;
You seemingly believe in nothing;
You press upon new beliefs,
For you see a new way of thinking is fronting.
We shall be led to ‘greener’ pastures,
Where the individuals are silenced,
And the Shepherd is standing tall,
And disheartened those who are in noncompliance.
You are a stereotype;
You sit by yourself and yet are surrounded;
You live on something that can not be seen,
Now where we live is anything, but grounded.
We shall be led to ‘greener’ pastures,
Where knowledge is abundant,
And the Shepherd is standing tall,
And we continue forward, entirely knowing nothing for we can’t.
You are a stereotype;
You were not ready to leave the nest;
You left on your own accord,
Because quite frankly you thought it was best.
We shall be led to ‘greener’ pastures,
Where the sun will no longer rise,
And the Shepherd is standing tall,
And the angels sing no reprise.
You are a stereotype;
You can no longer be categorized;
You live in a world;
No longer withheld by differences in skin color, or other such lies.
We shall be led to ‘greener’ pastures,
Where air tastes of bloodshed,
And the Shepherd is standing tall,
And the words were never said.
You are a stereotype;
You hold strength beyond compare;
You are able to break down barriers,
But for now all we do is stare.
