Night Walk
As she drags her heavy lead feet across the pavement,
its only in the brightness of the corner street light
that you can see the traces of the tears
that have been shed beneath the full moon
Thinking of the complications that make life seem unworthy
While dreaming of the wonderful mysteries that keep her thriving
She has no choice but to let the pain fall from her eyes
Simple and easy, yet so comforting
She’s tried to tell him, her, and them but
Nothing seems to work, it doesn’t seem to matter
After all she is the only one really listening
So in the end what else can she do
But trust in her own beliefs and rely on herself
Hoping that maybe one day, someone else will listen too.
