Time Machine

We don't have a time machine,
and even if we did,
would we really want to use it?
Would we be ready to change who we are,
The stories we tell?
What if the tears on that first day of school never happened?
What if that first "hello" had never taken place?
Who would we be?
I remember how much it hurt to move to this town,
away from my home.
But then I'd never have met you.
We'd never have the laughs we have.
Some over good-lookin' waiters
or math assignments we don't get.
I'd never smile every time I see you in the hall,
just because your that way.
Our super secret handshake would never exist,
And our laughs over the fact that I still can't do the cheers right, wouldn't be here?
The basketball games that we screamed at almost till we passed out,
the slumber parties to share secrets at,
the shopping trips,
the nicknames,
the stupid
crazy stuff
we do when we're together
wouldn't be here.
So tell me,
would you really want to go back and change it?
I wouldn't

This will certify that the above work is completely original.
