i walked outside
in my torn-up robe
and went to the mailbox
the neighbor called
from his lawn
the mail was dirty
bills and credit card offers
than one
i ripped it open there
were sorry
it said
we cant publish it
too dirty
too gruesome
too suspicious
whatever
and threw it on the ground
for the garbagemen to collect

Very good. The tone is very emotionless, bleak, but that almost made it feel more dramatic. Like underneath it, there was something bigger than a rejection letter. An apathy to the world in general. I don't know. Anyway, it was good. And I'm not usually a fan of poetry.
