where am i?
that night i escaped from home
ran to the pier
to clear
my thoughts that were clouded like the horizon
as i stared into that dark moody sky
the warm breeze that blew the brown grass
easing the anxiety that filled my brain
the water was so calm, i could see
the fear that looked back at me
as the moonlight illuminated
the water
in the distance, there were grey-sailless sailboats
i had things in common with
we both had no destination
stuck in the same place
not knowing where i would go next
but i would always have this pier
to remind me why i am here
