Ode to Kleenex
On days with a runny nose
And teary eyes,
Our sadness can buzz around us like flies.
On those days
We can feel like we are trapped in a tiny little box
Or like we are being stoned by a thousand rocks.
On days when we feel pain
We need to release our emotions,
But sometimes they can flow out of us like oceans.
When our nose feels like two sludge filled drainage pipes
And our eyes begin to drown,
We can feel like a clown.
We want something to stuff our face into
Maybe a family sized pizza
Or a stack of pancakes as tall as Giza.
When we look around the room
What we need is relief,
Something to help us release our liquid grief.
We find a little cardboard box
Holding some handy little tissues,
Helping us wipe up all of our issues.
