Mediocre Melody
I am just one of
A million, a mediocre
Melody, a face mother loves.
I’m not a jewel a broker
Exclaims is the cream of the crop
More like clearance
I’m half off today.
People shamelessly wince
Whenever I try to say
Anything that makes me happy
You are the only
One who gets me.
Turning one pathetic phony,
A social pariah to be
A glittering angel
With you, my steps
Echo like a thousand men.
Actually, that’s out of depth.
It’s more like then
Walking on air
With you, midnight never came.
I love you a ton.
Know you’ll always say the same
With you, I am never done
Or without life and love
But who am I
Kidding about all of this?
You are just an illusion, a lie.
I seem to miss
Every cute guy in town
I’m merely pining
Of love that’s impossible.
I never seem to be winning.
I feel as if I’m trash, I’m tossable
No one likes this exists.
Or maybe this mediocre melody
Is played by a one-man band.
