like hopscotch and finger painting

I come home-
from my school day
of messy finger painting
and sunbaked hopscotch,
and the recess
that dried up the chocolate milk
I spilled on my shirt
during lunch-
to my too kind and welcoming
bed.
I sigh a breath
of paste and chocolate chip
before I fall
onto my soft pink covers
without even changing
into my pajamas-
or taking off my shoes.
