Thanksgiving Morning
Beneath my sheets; still and somber
Among my dreams and inside my thoughts
Towards my nose, a smell, sweet and salty
Upon thanksgiving and me
Out of my comforting cozy catnap
Onto the cold chilling carpet
Down the winding stairs
Into the kitchen
From out of the oven, a smell
Throughout the home
Within my heartwarming humble home
With my family around me
Across the table, the tantalizing turkey
Under the gravy the sweet potatoes
Within me, the savory sausage stuffing
Upon indigestion
Out of my dining room chair
Onto the capacious cloth couch
Against my deeper, desperate desires
Into a tasty turkey torpor
