The days go by at a snail's pace
As usual
People walk around me
Speeding away to their destinations
Feeling like they need to belong somewhere
While I stand still

Seasons change by daytime
Life rests in its peaceful slumber at night
A constant perpetual pattern
People snuggling closer to each other
Feeling the need to belong to someone else
While I lay alone

Time is consumed like paper to flame
As she thinks of him and he dreams of her
People waste their thoughts away
Not taking time to appreciate the little things
Feeling like they have to think of that special person
While I think of nothing but my emptiness without you

Heaven waits for its newcomers
A safe haven for the wanderers and pained souls
People take their places down here for granted
Living it day by day
Feeling like this hell is enough as long as they have each other
While I wait for my day to be up there with you

But as the days go by
And seasons change
And life speeds ahead around me
I still survive

'Cause while people always have someone else to hold
To feel complete
While they pity me as a soul without another half

I know that looking up there at night
I am perfectly complete

Having belonged with you
Even for a moment
As the last days went by to the
Very last night
Ending but leaving all I
Needed

So that you are always
Will always
Be with me
