My Grandfather's Hands
My grandfather's hands have wisdom and age
They are tan, expressive towards his hobby
He's currently mixing sunscreen onto each palm
It started with a flyer, an advertisement for an event in Germany
I tilt my head, asking a question to him, what is it like to run a 29 mile race in Germany?
He laughs and pulls on his running shoes, smiling
"It's hours of wind on your face, but in the end it is like you're finally flying."
