Fragments of Kenya Clark
Summary:
Chris Ranson leads an easy life, but is contradicted over whether or not he should approach his childhood friend, Kenya Clark, who his friends torment nearly every day and who he has been loving from afar nearly his entire life. But when he finally gathers up the courage to approach her and confess his love for her, she apologizes for something she says will happen in the near future. And when she commits suicide, Chris's entire life spirals out of control as he struggles to understand not only her and himself, but the nature of suffering and betrayal.
This novel follows one character as he recognizes his mistakes and ultimately struggles against the one thing all people are trying to do: to find and escape suffering, and to search for simplicity in an intricate and screwed up world.
