Countdown
'I am going to die... I am going to die....' Those five words replay over and over in my head as I stare at the large field infrount of me.
Fear fills my body making my feet feet like 600 pound weights as I drag myself over to the starting line.
I can't hear anything but the pounding of my heart in my head. Every beat passes by faster as my pulse starts to race. I feel an almost jittery sensation and even through the heat a shiver travels down my back.
I have never been so terrified in my life. But thats what I feel almost every race.
A wave of nausia goes through my stomach making wales sounds.
I don't even have time to laugh at the compairison before the countdown starts.
"10..."
'What was I thinking back when I joined?'
"9..."
'I'm ganna die.'
"8..."
'Ganna faint!'
"7..."
'Wonder what heaven looks like?'
"6..."
'I'm ganna be sick.'
"5..."
'I'm ganna try to survive.'
"...BANG!"
The gun goes off.
