Lacrosse

Lacrosse.
My adrenaline rush. When the game starts, the switch in my mind flicks on. As the clock runs down, I run faster. Thoughts race through my mind, but the stone cold expression on my face gives away nothing, as I glare blankly into the eyes of my opponent. Icy metal seeps through my gloves. I am at first scared: a frighteningly comfortable sensation overwhelms my spine. The tastes--blood, sweat, and dirt--blend in my mouth. When I was a child, they told me just to have fun, they said winning isn't everything. As I grow wiser, I see that they are right; winning isn't everything, it's the only thing. For we only have one opportunity to impress. One chance to go down in fame. One shot to be. Legend
