Rock Brook
Once a year I am filled with a unique, wonderful sense of joy. This is July 22 of every summer. This is also known as the opening day of camp. I have been attending the third session of Rock Brook Camp in North Carolina for about eight years now and I can definitely say it was one of the best decisions of my life. Through this camp I have built, memories, friendships, and new strengths. My camp session is three weeks and Rock Brook is a sleepaway camp and through this, I have gained so much independence. My favorite part of the opening day is getting settled into your cabin and meeting seven other girls you will live with for the next 3 weeks and grow to love. This is where lifelong friendships begin. Another fun thing is scheduling your activities. Rock Brook offers every type of activity from hiking and rock climbing to crafts and tennis. Dressing up in funny costumes and just going to dinner like that is pretty usual here at Rock Brook. Bonding experiences help build trust among campers and counselors too. The meals at RBC are prepared by the best kitchen staff there is. The staff is very friendly and willing to work with your needs. One of the head chefs is vegan and he prepares all meals for vegetarian/vegan campers. This sets Rock Brook apart from other sleepaway camps. As of now, I cannot wait for this summer to come and I am counting the days until July 22, my favorite day of the year.
