My Bucket List Experience
I have many things on my bucket list. One of the things that was on my bucket list, that I recently crossed off was going to Hawai’i. I was in this beautiful place for ten days (excluding the two full days of traveling). Within my trip to Hawai’i, I crossed even more things off of my bucket list.
I have been wanting to go to Hawai’i for as long as I can remember. The main reason why I have always wanted to go there is because I have always heard how beautiful it is. While I was there, I got to experience some of the most beautiful views on the island. To get to these views, it required day long voyages and extreme hiking.
The first extreme hike I went on is to a place called Pololu Valley. It took many hours to arrive to the spot where you start hiking. When we parked the car, we saw a breath-taking view; little did we know, this was only the beginning of the view. After you get out of the car, you hike down through the forest. The steep trail you go down is made out of slippery mud, so it makes the journey very challenging and difficult. When we got to the bottom, we saw a black sand beach, and amazing cliffs. And beautiful green plants everywhere we looked. It looked like paradise; something out of a movie. We stayed down in the valley for a few hours, then headed back up. Now, by the time we headed back up, it was twenty degrees hotter, and the mud was even slippier. But, after our hour hike back up the steep path, we made it to the top. I think the hike made the view so much more enjoyable, because we worked hard for it, so it felt like we earned it.
Another hike we took was to a zip line that we rode. We parked our car in the parking lot, and joined the group of everyone else, and put our harnesses on. It was about ninety degrees that day so it was extremely hot. We hiked through the forest, and saw many waterfalls, trees, and other amazing things throughout our journey. We zipped on some ziplines throughout our journey.
Next, we took a hike to a waterfall. It is called rainbow falls, and is located in a national park. It was one of the prettiest sights in all of Hawai’i.
Lastly, we took a hike around the crater of the most active volcano in all of Hawai’i. This hike was extreme! Since the volcano was active, there was a lot of steam and it was super humid and hot. Sadly, we did not see any lava though. The hike was over ten miles, and we got as close as you possibly can get to the volcano’s center.
We took many other hikes and saw many other amazing things throughout this trip, but these are some of my favorite. As I went on this trip, I learned many new things, and crossed many things off of my bucket list along the way. I think that everyone should have a chance to create a bucket list, and to pursue the things on their list! It is a great way to learn, experience new things, and to simply live life!
