What Our Generation Needs to Hear
Do you ever see people smiling in the halls at school? Or in the isle of a grocery store? How about late at night in pictures on social media? Everywhere you look people are smiling. Don't get me wrong, some people do not fake their smiles but has it ever occured to you that their smile could be a cover up and they could be dying on the inside? Most people you meet are not geniunely happy. They act as if they are in public and around their peers, but when they're alone, especially late at night, they are crumbling into a billion pieces. See, society has this thing nowadays where standards are set so high by popular demand that people feel worthless. They feel "not good enough." Our generation is walking on egg shells just waiting for the right moment to break through. Then what? The person you thougt was so happy is gone. How did no one know about this? It all ties back to society and their demands. On another note, models in our time look unhealthily skinny. It makes the "not so skinny girls" who have nice curves and a good figure feel insecure about their bodies. Boys look at girls with huge tits and a nice ass but pay no attention to personality. What girls need to hear is: don't be afraid to rock your own skin. It is okay to be curvy/not curvy, skinny/not skinny, tall/short, etc. A boy will like you for you and how you are. Back to the whole idea of me writing this passage, emotions are something everyone has, but expresses in different ways. Mental illnesses are very common and are also expressed in different ways. And that is perfectly okay. What's not okay is criticizing someone for their mental state. Also, making jokes about it is not cool and if you're doing it solely for attention, those games are not to be played. If I've learned anything recently, it is to not f*** with someone's emotions and don't do anything attention-seeking. That being said, do NOT tell suicidal people they are attention-seeking. Why do you think people hide their scars and not tell anyone abiut their tendencies? It's because they want attention, right? Wrong.
Karma is a b****. Don't live with regrets but live a little and have some fun. You wanna get high? Drunk? Go get high or drunk but only to where you have some sense of what actions you're taking. This generation is drug related and involves under-aged drinking. If that isn't you, good for you! Way to not follow the crowd!! But if you're into that, sweet. Don't cheat on your partner. But if you do, be straight up with them. Learn from my experience and don't lie about it when the topic comes up. Explain to them your story and pray it will end okay. If i could change anything, i'd redo how my boyfriend found out I cheated. Spare major details but speak enough and speak with such a tone to where it sounds less worse than it actually is. What im trying to accomplish in this passage is our generation is definitely different than our parents'. There's only one of you and one life of yours so make it the best and have fun. Let your insecurities slide by and face the fact that this is who you are. This is who you will always be. Learn to love your skin. Learn to love your family and friends and let people in. Learn who to trust and dont be afraid to let go of people along the way. If someone negatively effects your life, forget them. Ease into letting them go. It'll only benefit you in the long run. Try to stay positive and look on the bright side of things. Make new friends. Try something new. Discover new hobbies. Discover yourself. Have a lot on your mind? Try writing like I did and i guarantee you will feel a heavy weight off your shoulders.
Live life to your greatest potential.
Sincerely,
Anon.

My perspective of society in this generation is the reality of life and i feel it needs to be spread along others so they know it is okay to be different and not like any of the stereotypes they see online.
