To Be Young
This place used to feel so big. It was as if everyone in the world could fit on the playground. Walking the halls now, 10 years later..no longer as a girl but as a young woman, it feels so small. The kids that run through the halls remind me of how I used to be; not a care in the world. They haven't been introduced to any of the bad in life, only the beautiful things. Drugs, sex, divorce and heartbreak are all just foreign words to these innocent children. They see the best in people, and they laugh for no reason..people don't laugh very often nowadays. Grades consisted of how well you could color, or read. There were no such things as AP classes or staying up all hours studying. Stress was unheard of. These children smile solely because they are happy to exist and to meet people, such things older generations have lost the ability to do. I think we can learn so much from these children. We can learn what happiness and passion feels like and how to find joy in life within the smallest of things.

I am currently a junior in high school. I visited my elementary school a few weeks ago and seeing all this laughter and positivity coming from the children reminded me of an easier time in life. The joy it brought me to see how happy this children were inspired me to write this.
