A Miracle
It was January of 2010, and another person was diagnosed with a moderate case of the Autoimmune disease Ulcerative Colitis. I was that person. For the two years after that, I struggled with this horrible disease. When the doctors failed to find a medication that was effective in controlling the disease, it became clear to me that the only option I had left was surgery. I knew it was going to be tough, but I also knew that it was the only way I was going to be healthy again and have my life back. The surgery was a miracle.
In April of 2012, I had the surgery that changed my life forever, and just two months later my life already made a complete 180. I was starting to gain weight, strength, and an overall optimistic mindset.
After living with Ulcerative Colitis for two years, I realized how important it is to be grateful for what you have and are able to do.
I now dedicate my life to being healthy and have found a great amount of passion in fitness. I have been training every day in the gym for about eight weeks now and have seen great improvements in my overall strength and confidence. Fitness is a very rewarding thing to get yourself involved in. It has shown me how strong of a person I really am, and what I can accomplish if I set my mind to it.
In the near future I hope I will be able to use the time and effort I have put in to my work, into fitness competitions. More into the future, my ultimate goal is to receive a pro-card in fitness, and compete against others across the country that share the same passion towards this sport that I do.
