Vacation
A highlight I had over my spring break was going to Florida with my family and friends. I was able to spend a week in Naples with my family and then the second half of the break I was in Clearwater with my friend and her mom. I really enjoyed both parts of the trip. It has been awhile since my family was all able to go on a trip together so it was good family time to spend together.
We spent our days going to the beach and relaxing in the hot Florida sun with the scent of sunscreen and salt reminding me of past family trips. Our family trips pretty much consist of that which I love because we create good memories each trip that we love going back to. The day before I left my family to go to Clearwater I got very burnt. We were having a beach day like all the other days but this time it was cloudy out.
My Dad even said “Angelina, make sure you put sunscreen on even though it’s cloudy out, you can still get burnt!”
“I’m fine, I said, the UV is only 5 so I won't get burnt.”
I didn’t think much of it and ignored him but by the end of the day when the sunset I was as red as a tomato and my face started to swell. That was my lowlight of my trip because it ruined the last couple days.
When I got to Clearwater I had to be especially careful with being outside in the sun and put extra sunscreen on but I didn’t let that ruin my time having fun with my friends. Clearwater was a great spot for spring break… the vibrant energy of the small town was shown through the streets, each building had its own splash of color, and cheerful seaside painting.
We would never miss a sunset, we sprinted to the car and made sure we got to see it. Overall I had a great time on both trips even though I got burnt in Naples I had a great time creating memories with my family and friends that I will always look back on.
