Remember
It’s okay to replace me
Just don’t forget me.
Don’t forget the day we met
Or the first time we kissed
Or when we met each other's parents.
Don’t forget any of it.
Don’t forget how intoxicated we were with each other.
Don’t forget the screams
Or the tears
Or the weeks of silence.
But also don’t forget the ‘I miss you’ texts
And the ‘I still love you’s’
And the ‘I’ll always love you’s’.
It’s okay that you’ve moved on.
I have, too.
But you made me promise over and over to never forget.
When I said “I promise.” everything was burnt into my memory.
I’ll always remember,
So please never forget.
