One of my most embarrassing moments happened when I was in third or fourth grade. I live in Walker, Michigan. It was springtime, and my street was sunny and full of trees. The construction workers were re-doing some of the sidewalks around my house at the time, so some of the sidewalks were blocked off.

I had just gotten off the bus from school and was walking home while also talking to my friend, Sam. ''Bye see you tomorrow,'' i said
''yup,'' she replied, ''have a good day''

I wasn't looking where I was going because I was looking at am while I talked. sam was walking towards her house too, which was down the street perpendicular to mine. so actually i was kind of yelling to her while walking home. as I took a step, I stepped right into a square of wet cement. It had cones around it, but they were really short and there was no caution tape around the square. It felt gross and gooey, and I had to pull my feet out of the muck until I got out on the other side.

I was wearing flip flops when I stepped in the cement, so I got it all over my feet. The construction worker down the road started shouting at me and cursing at me. He was saying things like '' what were you thinking? and look where you are walking!'' As I usually do when I get yelled at, I immediately started to bawl my eyes out. I think he felt bad, because when I got down the street to him, he was a little nicer. '' i'm soooo sorry'' i said, still crying.
'' its ok, it just that the cement is poisonous if you get it on your skin'' he said to me while he got out a hose. i continued to cry as he sprayed all the cement off with the hose. After that my feet were a little red, but i was fine. My mom came out of the house and talked to him while i ran inside and soaked my feet in the bathtub. I was super embarrassed, and I refused to go out of the house for the rest of the time that the construction workers were there. I just sat at my window and looked out at him until he was gone.

My mom thought it was pretty funny though. after she talked to the construction worker she came in and gave me a hug, even though she laughed at me too. There was one cool thing about the whole deal though, for the next couple of years i could see my footprints in the cement from where i stepped in it. I don't have many embarrassing moments, and when i do i try to block it out, but that was a moment i will never forget
