Senior Year

Walking down the hallway, I walk passed classrooms. Classrooms I used to sit in for 40 minutes every day. I see other students, some zoning out, some hyper focused, like a hawk watching its prey. I head over to some friends standing in a small group.
“I hate my schedule this semester. I have no classes with any of you. I hope I have more classes with you guys next year.”
We all grow silent as we look around, the realization growing on each of us like a vine on a tree. This is our last semester of school together ever again.
